Well, it seem that summer is practically finished now and the days are noticeably shortening. The Ulula summer offer proved very popular with lots of customers, many of who tried the Bohlsener Mill mueslis and crunchies for the first time. But it is time now to think about changing to our autumn offer.

The delicious Holle Organic Spelt Baby Porridge is so easy to prepare. Use either breast milk, baby formula or just water to prepare a wholesome porridge that your baby will love. It’s great on its own or mixed with home made fruit or vegetable puree for a grain based lunch for your baby.
Having trained many years ago as a miller, I love spelt. Spelt is an ancient grain dating back seven thousand years and has some fantastic qualities. It is naturally high in soluble dietary fibre, giving this baby porridge mild stool softening properties. Compared to wheat, spelt is also higher in the B-complex vitamins and both simple and complex carbohydrates. Spelt also contains significantly more protein – great for fast growing babies. Due to the nature of this grain, people who are gluten intolerant are often able to include spelt-based foods within their diet.

The Ulula baby food blog has been a little quiet lately. We may not have posted many articles since coming back from our holidays but we have been very busy behind the scenes. Responding to your suggestions, Roger has made a few subtle changes to the website to make the shopping cart system easier to use - no more struggling to find the buttons you need.
We have also both been working on a major change to the way the site is structured which will make it easier for you to find the products you are looking for – we know how little time busy mums and dads have. Very excitingly, we are also working on an entirely new concept that is dear to all our hearts – weaning babies. We can’t reveal exactly what we are planning just yet, suffice it to say we are calling the new concept ‘The Weaning Wizard’. All will be revealed soon!
