I am constantly looking for ways of improving our service to both our new as well as our existing customers. In an effort to improve the delivery of your precious baby food we have recently changed courier. We want to make sure we give you the promptness and reliabilty you want and deserve.
As part of the high service levels we demand from our courier, please note that our current courier is not able to leave parcels unattended without your signed consent. This is to ensure the security of your parcel – and your baby’s food. If you will not be available at the delivery address you provide during checkout please leave a signed note for the driver with clear instructions on where and/or with whom to leave the parcel. Otherwise, the driver will leave you a card with contact details so that you can arrange a mutually convenient time for delivery.
As always, I very much welcome your feedback on all aspects of our website, our ranges and the service we provide. So please let us know how you find our new courier and the delivery service you receive.

The Ulula baby food blog has been a little quiet lately. We may not have posted many articles since coming back from our holidays but we have been very busy behind the scenes. Responding to your suggestions, Roger has made a few subtle changes to the website to make the shopping cart system easier to use - no more struggling to find the buttons you need.
We have also both been working on a major change to the way the site is structured which will make it easier for you to find the products you are looking for – we know how little time busy mums and dads have. Very excitingly, we are also working on an entirely new concept that is dear to all our hearts – weaning babies. We can’t reveal exactly what we are planning just yet, suffice it to say we are calling the new concept ‘The Weaning Wizard’. All will be revealed soon!

The Ulula ratings at work - get hooting today
As the Ulula team were busy last week getting properly up to date with orders, Roger was also working on putting the finishing touches to our product rating system. Now you can vote for every item of organic baby food or skin care product you buy.
Help Other Parents
I want the Ulula website to be as useful and informative as possible and to help busy mums and dads to make informed choices when shopping for baby food for their little ones.
So Roger has written a custom rating system for the Ulula site and we sent an email to well over two hundred customers asking them to give some initial ratings on products of their choice so that we could lauch the system with some already useful information.
This was a big commitment to ask of customers – if you were one of the randomly chosen 250, a huge thank you from every one on the Ulula team. This whole exercise has been a heart warming example of how committed the Ulula community of parents is to making the site work for other parents looking for premium organic baby food. Thank you to you all.
Start Hooting For Ulula
As well as being helpful for other parents looking to buy organic baby food, your votes will be used to help me decide exactly which products to sell on the site – your feedback is important to us.
So, whenever you have ordered and tried out a product please do come back to the site to let us know how you and your baby found it. To make your voting a little more fun we have used the baby owl from the Ulula logo instead of the usual stars to represent a number. Rate each item out of 5 and simply click the owl of your choice to ‘hoot’ for a product. Your vote will immediately be added to the current total and a new number of hoots will be displayed.
Vote for your family favourites and help other parents looking to buy organic baby foods. Start hooting today!

Sabine in the Alps
Well, we are back from our much needed holiday in sunny Austria and it’s straight back to work. There were a large number of baby food orders waiting for us on our return and our priority this week is to ensure all orders go out as soon as possible.
We have a number of blog articles planned, including a few photos from the Austrian Alps, but for now it’s packing, packing, packing! We have taken on extra help to deal with your orders and from now on it’s business as usual.
Thank you all for your patience and support and thank you to all of you who sent kind messages hoping we enjoyed the holidays. We are certainly feeling refreshed and are bursting with ideas for the site. So, watch his space.

I had two emails from customers last weekend asking if I could add some items of organic baby food into their latest order before sending it out. Of course, normally that would be no problem – I shop online myself and know that I don’t always remember everything.
Unfortunately, for both these customers I had already despatched the orders and the customers were left deciding whether to incur additional delivery charges or wait until their next order. My apologies to Sophie and Di.
Personal and Flexible Online Shopping
When we receive your baby food orders we aim to ship everything out within 24 hours. Unlike many online shops we don’t charge a premium for next day delivery because we aren’t in a position to actually guarantee it, but I think we can be rightly proud of the fact that over 90% of all Ulula orders are received by the customer the next day (in the UK).
At the same time, we aim to offer a very personal and individualised shopping experience and would like you to have the flexibility of adding anything to your baby food order that you may have forgotten. So, could I emphasise to all our customers that if you need to add anything to your order, please do try and let me know as soon as possible so we can pop it in the parcel before it is sent out. Either send a message using the contact form available from every page on the site, or just give me a ring.
We alway welcome feedback on our organic baby foods as well as the service we provide. Let us know how we can improve the site to make your shopping experience as hassle-free as possible.

I thought I would finish this week with a couple of feedback emails we have received in the last few days.
Dear Sabine,
I wanted to thank you for the note you wrote on our last order! Our little lady is certainly a Holle baby, as I was before her. We are still at the trying out stage, but she has such a good appetite – this week’s favourite – the rice baby porridge!
Thank you for your great website and fantastic and speedy service,
Sophie
Hi sabine just to let you know i have received my order.that was super quick thank you very much.
Sajid
I think it is all too easy for online shoping to be an impersonal experience and I like to think that Ulula at least tries to reverse that trend. We like to receive your feedback, whether positive or not, because that helps us to improve the Ulula website as well as the service we provide.
Let us know how we can improve your online organic baby food shopping experience for you and other parents. Leave us a comment, send an email or even give us ring.
Ulula Organic Baby Food – Summer 2009 Give Away
Don’t forget, every person who places an order with Ulula in June will be entered into a prize draw to win copies of two books by one of my favourite authors on child-rearing, Steve Biddulph. Check out “The Secret of Happy Children: A Guide for Parents
” and “More Secrets of Happy Children: A Guide for Parents
” – both offer priceless advice and food for thought for any parent.

I want the Ulula website to be as useful and informative as possible and to help busy mums and dads to make informed choices when shopping for baby food for their little ones.
A number of parents have recently suggested we implement a rating system so that shoppers can rate the baby foods and skin care ranges on the site. I loved this idea and asked Roger to come up with a technical solution that allows each customer to vote once on every product – to give a rating out of 5.
So Roger has written and tested a custom rating system for the Ulula site and we have sent an email to well over two hundred customers asking them to give some initial ratings on products of their choice so that we could lauch the system with some already useful information. This was a big commitment to ask of customers – if you were one of the randomly chosen 250, a huge thank you from every one on the Ulula team. This whole exercise has been a heart warming example of how committed the Ulula community of parents is to making the site wok for other parents looking for premium organic baby food. Thank you to you all.
We have now reached our deadline for receivng these initial ratings and we now have the task of entering the ratings into the site database. Once this is done we will launch the new rating system and you are all encourged to vote for the products that you, your baby and the whole family enjoy. Look out for a special Ulula twist that Roger has built in.
