IDEAL FOR WEANING: Holle Organic Baby Porridges - great with homemade baby recipes Read more >>
As a baby growths, so does its food and nutritional requirements. An exclusive diet of breastfeeding or formula l from birth onwards, may not satisfy an infant's increasing hunger. The gradual feeding of a so called 'supplementary food phase' begins predominantly after the between the 4th and 6th month and continues through to the beginning of the second year, with food which is eaten by the whole family. Because every child develops individually and acquires a liking for certain meals at an early age, differences in overall diet plans are completely normal.
The individual behaviour of a baby influences its energy requirements and therefore influences its desired meal servings. Lively children need more energy than passive babies and therefore require more frequent and larger meal servings.
