| Fourth Weaning Step
From 8 months onwards your baby will be able to cope with slightly coarser food. Your baby’s food doesn’t need to be puréed quite so much and can contain small, but soft vegetable or fruit pieces. This change encourages your baby to chew.
Recipe Suggestion: Fruity Rusk Porridge (from 8 months) Break two Holle Organic Baby Spelt Rusks into pieces and place them in a bowl. Pour 140ml of boiled water evenly over the rusks. Leave to soak for a short time and mash with a fork. Add around 100g freshly grated fruit or fruit jar, e.g. Pure Pear or Pure Apple & Banana to taste. To increase the amount of essential fatty acids and available vitamins, add 1 teaspoon Holle Organic Baby Weaning Oil. Leave to cool until ready to eat. Every weaning meal replaces one milk feed (breast feed or bottle feed). If you have, as suggested, breastfed your baby fully for six months then the ages mentioned above will move forwards accordingly. The age in months shown is the earliest possible time to introduce solid foods. According to your baby’s development, suggested ages may vary by 1–2 months. These variations are entirely natural and normal!
