Description
Lettuces are super easy to grow and are perfect for growing with little children as they grow quickly and they can pick individual leaves off the plant themselves. This delicious blend of summer lettuce varieties gives a wide variety of colours, textures and flavours. It includes Black Seeded Simpson, Suzan, Merveille Des Quatre Saisons, Lollo Bionda, Grazer Krauthauptel and Red Salad Bowl. Mix with spicy rocket and annual herbs for a mixed salad, straight from the garden. Sowing a few seeds at fortnightly intervals ensures you get a regular supply, rather than 20 lettuce all ready to eat at the same time!

Indoor Sowing: Sow seeds from February in seed trays in the greenhouse or on a windowsill. Harden off before planting out.
Outdoor Sowing: Sow outdoors from mid April in shallow drills, either in containers or in the open ground, thinning seedlings to 15cm apart.
Growing instructions: Protect from slugs and cover early sowings with a cloche. For easy to harvest cut-and-come-again salads, cut when leaves reach 8 - 10cm tall for baby leaves, or allow to grow. Leaves should be ready 6-8 weeks from sowing and give leaves for about 3 months. Harvest the outer leaves so the plant can continue to grow.
