Pura’s mission is to bring the safest, most adaptable, and most eco-progressive drinks bottles to parents and customers around the world. Pura was founded by a husband and wife team who could not find a bottle that they felt was safe enough for their children and did not contain plastic in any form. Their solution was to create a bottle system themselves that was 100% plastic-free.

Their guiding design principle in their quest to provide the best children and adult bottles on the market was to allow customers to “build their bottle” based on the activity they had planned for the day. As such every bottle offered by Pura works with every lid… their smallest bottle can be used with the Big Mouth™ sport top while their largest insulated bottle can be used with a nipple if desired.
Pura bottles are assessed in a quantitative manner by an independent third party (MadeSafe.org) and have been certified by MadeSafe as NONTOXIC, the only such bottles on the world market to achieve this status.
The NONTOXIC CERTIFIED process starts with a screening process called MADE SAFE, which examines ingredients and product materials for known carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, reproductive toxins, neurotoxins, behavioral toxins, flame retardants, heavy metals, pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, toxic solvents, harmful VOCs, or GMOs. This process also aims to close data gaps by screening each material and ingredient for persistence, bioaccumulation, and general and aquatic toxicity. Each and every ingredient has been scrutinized by a scientist. Once products have passed the ingredient screening, they go on to be lab tested to ensure that the product as a whole doesn’t cause harm to human health. This phase actually looks at how ingredients and components of a product interact with each other in mixture.
