For your next crafty afternoon, why not try making a leaf lion? It’s a joyful, hands-on activity that looks fantastic on the wall and is great fun to create. All you need is some cardboard, a few pens, glue, and a collection of vibrant autumn leaves. On your next walk, gather large, colourful leaves and you’ll be ready to start crafting!
This is what you need:
- A large piece of cardboard (preferably not too thick so that it can be cut easily)
- Large, colorful leaves
- Crayons or felt tip pens
- Glue
- A round plate as a template

Here's how to make your leaf lion:
- Place the plate on the cardboard and draw a circle with a pencil.
- Cut out the circle.
- Now draw ears, nose, and eyes on the remaining cardboard and cut them out.
- Glue the ears, nose, and eyes to your cut-out circle.
- Draw a lion's face on the cardboard with colored pencils. There are no limits to your creativity here.
- Turn your lion on its back and glue the leaves all around it until you get a real mane.
The cute leaf lion is ready!

A little tip: You can also use the leaf lion as a Halloween mask. Simply attach a large elastic band to the back and use scissors to cut out holes to see through.
