Description
Carleschi's Wholegrain Spelt Conchiglie is made with stoneground spelt so that none of the amazing nutritional and health benefits of this grain are lost in the milling process. Not to degenerate any of the vitamins, they produce and dry their pasta at a low temperature. Spelt, a hulled wheat, has less gluten than bread wheat and has a rich nutty flavour. It is an excellent source of carbohydrates and dietary fibre. It is also particularly rich in iron, magnesium, phosphorous, zinc and niacin (vitamin B3) as well as micronutrients such as calcium and vitamin E. Shell shaped conchiglie pasta is among the most popular shapes of pasta. The sturdy shape will hold up well under chunky meat and vegetable sauces, while the hollow parts of the shells can act to hold thinner sauces.
