Hodmedod's Organic Borlotti Beans
Description
Wonderfully versatile, these organic borlotti beans add a delicious creamy depth to soups, stews and casseroles. A variety of bean that holds its shape well during cooking, they can also be blended into smooth dips and spreads. Organically grown by French farmers working with Hodmedod's, they are a wholesome, sustainably produced staple for everyday cooking. These borlotti beans are a versatile variety of common or french bean Phaseolus vulgaris, which can be enjoyed fresh in their pods or dried, when they reach their fullest flavour and nutritional value.

Cooking instructions: Soak the beans for 6 hours. Cover with water or stock, bring to the boil and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes until the beans are soft. Add more water if needed.
Notes on Cooking Dried Pulses: Cooking times for dried pulses will be longer at higher altitudes and when cooking with hard water or older pulses. Adding bicarbonate of soda during soaking and/or cooking will soften the pulses and reduce the cooking time.
Cooked pulses can be used immediately or frozen for later use.
